Doctor

  • Dr. Tracy Barlup , VMD


    Dr. Tracy A. Barlup purchased the practice in February 2000. She is a native of Waynesboro, PA. Dr. Barlup received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and her Veterinary Medical Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. Prior to coming to Hagerstown, Dr. Barlup worked at Rockhill Veterinary Associates in Sellersville, PA and VetSmart Pet Hospitals and Health Centers in Bel Air, MD and Baltimore, MD.

    Dr. Barlup is married to Michael McIntyre.  Their son, Logan, turned six in January and is now attending Hagerstown Children's School. The Barlup-McIntyre household remains a busy place with us humans, as well with one dog, five cats, and eight alpacas.

  • Dr. Jennifer Johnson , DVM


    Dr. Jennifer Johnson grew up in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. She is a 1990 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and in 1994; she received her Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medical Technology from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA.  She worked as a Certified Animal Health Technician in a mixed-animal practice for 5 years before attending veterinary school.

    In June 2003, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University's School of Veterinary Medicine.  She spent her preclinical vet school years on a small island in the West Indies called St. Kitts.  She completed a year of clinical education at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia.  Dr. Johnson practiced in the Cleveland, Ohio area her first 2 years. There she gained valuable experience with a myriad of exotics as well as dogs and cats.

    Her own children are of the fuzzy, 4-legged variety, as she is owned by her Standard Poodle “Stanley” and 3 cats: Luke, Madeline and Grizzabella. She also shares her home with a cockatiel, a guinea pig, and a veiled chameleon. Dr. Johnson hopes to enroll Stanley in a therapeutic pet program to aid in the comfort and companionship of hospitalized people.

    Her hobbies include rock climbing, learning electric guitar, working in the yard, and reading.  She lives in Waynesboro, PA.

Management

  • Kirsten Wallinger


    Kirsten joined the staff of Longmeadow Animal Hospital as the Practice Director in September 2004. Kirsten previously worked as a Veterinary Technician in LaVale, MD and more recently held a position in the financial division, of the S. Schwab Company in Cumberland, MD.  She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management from Frostburg State University and brings with her a diverse background spanning many industries.  Kirsten lives in Mont Alto, PA with her two fuzzy dog children "Bear" and "Gypsy" and lots of tropical fish.

Technician

  • Rebecca Remsburg , RVT


    Becca joined our team more than a year ago having just returned to the Hagerstown area from North Carolina.  Becca brings to the hospital her passion for animal care, exceptional client education skills, and always-pleasant personality.  Her special interests include dentistry and animal nutrition.  Becca lives in Williamsport, MD with her tribe of farm animals and house pets, but she is especially close to her deaf pitbull "Misque".

Reception

  • Alexis Packard


    Alexis joined our team in August of 2005.  She has brought to the practice her love for animals and people as well as her outgoing and positive, never quit attitude.  Recently married, she lives in Fairfield PA with her husband John, her cat "Thief" and her one of a kind Shepherd "Bandit".

  • Velvet Wood


    Velvet has recently returned to Longmeadow and we are glad she is here.  A familiar face to all of our clients she is loved by pets and owners alike.  Her compassion for animals and people make her a valuable asset to our team.  Velvet lives in Smithsburg, MD with her daughther Destiny, son Andrew, 3 cats and "Sonic" the hedgehog.

  • Chris Thompson


    Also, recently returning to Longmeadow Animal Hospital is our newest receptiomist.  Chris returns to us after completing her B.A. in Humanities at Washington College, in Chestertown, MD.  Formally a kennel attendant, Chris has now joined our reception team combining her love for animals and her recent education. Chris lives in Hagerstown, MD with her 3 dogs and 3 cats.

Kennel

  • Tina Barkdoll


    Tina is the calm and steady member of our health care team.  Always hardworking, patient and pleasant she is a huge asset to our hospital.  She has such a gentle nurturing way  and all animals love her.  Tina lives in Waynesboro, PA with her grandmother.

  • Courtney Blair


    A recent high school graduate, Courtney joined our team in June of '05.  Her bubbly- upbeat personality keeps everyone at the hospital smiling.  Having no prior animal experience, Courtney jumped right in, with her love of animals and never- ending energy becoming a tremendous addition to our team.  Courtney lives in Williamsport with two of the cutest basset hounds, "Tonka" and "Copper".

  • Kristen Trevey


    Kristen is one of the newer members of our team.  Currently she attends Goucher College and spends time with us during the summer and on holidays.  Her caring, calm personality is such an asset to our team and the animals just love her.

Assistants

  • Amy Chaney


    Amy joined the Longmeadow staff in the year 2000.  She is a valuable asset to the hospital with her never quit, up- beat attitude.  Amy lives in Hagerstown with her husband Tony, daughter Hailey, son Ethan, and a brand new kitty.

  • Beverly Ondick


    Beverly comes to the Longmeadow staff from the Humane Society of Washington County.  Her vast experience within the animal industry has been a huge asset to our hospital.  Her tender approach to all animals endears her to our clients and pets alike. Bev lives in nearby Falling Waters, WV with her husband Glenn, one dog and a small cat tribe.

  • Kat Souza


    Our newest veterinary assistant Kat has moved her way up through the ranks here at LAH.   She is a great team player and wonderful animal advocate.  Recently she completed her EMT certification but has elected to divide her time between human and animal medicine. Kat lives in Hagerstown with her cat Tango and Dalmatian Deuce.
